Charlotte Stark is a single mother, working a string of part time jobs while trying to get her degree in education to allow her to make a better life for her 12 year old son Adam. Since money isn’t as plentiful as it was before her husband left them, Adam has to spend the occasional night alone until Charlotte gets home from her evening composition class. Why she has to waste her time with
some of these basic prerequisite classes is beyond her and it makes her that much angrier that Adam has to fend for himself because of such a silly class.
